Reasons why Tom Hardy should get a Best Supporting Actor nod for his performance as Bane: His eyes.
For an actor who usually acts with such expression, using his face as one of his main tools to convey emotion. But, in this movie, most of his face is covered up by a bulky, chunky mask. The only thing you can see are his eyes. And yet, that’s enough.
His eyes in this film are so haunting. You would expect them to be cold and careless, like that of a ruthless villain, but they aren’t. They’re deep and soft. They betray Bane’s harsh exterior so perfectly, stripping away all of the terror and leaving you wondering why you feel so much for such a brute force of a man.
